You are welcome here!

Whoever you are and wherever you are on life's journey, you are welcome here!  This website is an interactive forum for sharing our church's many gifts: its ministries, special programs, and people.  But stop by and see us in person at worship or one of our many activities.

All of the latest news and near-time upcoming events are posted here on the home page, though a synopsis of the items is published in the Judea Journal, our monthly newsletter, available in our Resource Center.   Our calendar is updated regularly, so check it often for special services and other programs.  Can't find what you need?  Please let us know!

Please join us for worship on Sunday mornings or contact us to find out more about our programs for children and adults, including Christian Education and spiritual practice, youth or adult choirs, New Beginnings Single Life Ministry, Judea Nursery School, or any of our other missions and outreach programs.

AA Meeting
9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Bible Study: "First Light"
10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
What: 12-session DVD-based Bible study entitled “First Light.”
When: Wednesdays, 10 - 11:30 am, beginning 9/17
Where: Parish House Parlor
Who: Open to anyone interested in interesting historical content and lively conversation to better understand Jesus' message then - and now.

The study investigates the historical context – or matrix – in which Jesus lived and taught and attracted followers. Why did Jesus happen when he happened? How are the Baptism movement of John and the Kingdom movement of Jesus related? Why did it all start in the tiny villages around the Lake? Why the confrontations in Jerusalem? Why then? Why there?
Why were the titles of Caesar Augustus —“ Divine, Son of God, God from God, Lord, Redeemer, Liberator, and Savior of the World” — taken from a Roman emperor on the Palatine hill and given to a Jewish peasant on the Palestine plain? Was it mockery or high treason? Either way, the Romans were not laughing.
The study will help us to understand what Jesus’ message meant to his first followers and what they mean for our lives today.
If you are interested, please call the church to register for the group or put your name on the list for a possible evening group. A participant “reader” can be emailed to you or printed out for you to pick up.
