What's In? What's Out? Come to a Trash Talk on June 20 to find out!

Green Team members and friends,

Managing waste and knowing what to Recycle can be confusing.  We have been hearing this from friends and acquaintances and we, too, are unsure about many of these questions and so are excited to host this presentation.  Come to this family-friendly event at the First Congregational Church, UCC, to learn where our garbage and recycling really goes after leaving the Town of Washington (or wherever in CT we live).

What is the State of Connecticut’s universal recycling guide. What happens when you put the wrong thing in your recycling bin.  What does China have to do with recycling in Connecticut.  How can managing your waste save you money and how it effects your taxes.

Jennifer Heaton-Jones the Executive Director of the regional governmental solid waste and recycling authority, HRRA, will give a one hour presentation followed by a half hour Q & A.  You’re guaranteed to learn something new.

WHEN: Thursday, June 20 from 7 - 8:30 pm

WHERE:  First Congregational Church's Parish House
                6 Kirby Road, Washington, CT

Pass it on, tell your friends.  All are welcome!

Please contact the church office with any questions.

If you cannot make it on that date, Jennifer will be giving this same presentation on Thursday, June 13 at 7 pm at the Borough of Bantam Hall, 890 Bantam Rd, Bantam, CT 06750.
The event on June 13 is hosted by the Northwest Conservation District and open to the public.
