Members and Friends,
This Sunday we start our Faith Practice, “Praying and Making Ritual,” with a different way to pray. Ellen has planned a service that will try to get that child inside of you that Jesus talks about to commune with God. Plan to join us in church this Sunday at 10 am!
I keep reminding myself it is still mid-summer, as I pick summer fruit in the fields, orchards and garden, soaking in the summer warmth. The heat can help to slow things down somewhat, allowing us to look around for all of the gifts that abound. I hope you can linger a bit, too, and make room for prayers of joy and gratitude in your own way as you go about your days.
Speaking of prayer and rituals, there is a whole list of events on the right that are coming up over the next month. Please take a moment to check them out and make sure you include them on your own calendar so you don’t miss any of it: Blessing of the Backpacks, Sister Susie’s Allied Market, Blessing of our Work Tools at the Pavilion, and Homecoming/Mixing of the Waters followed by our annual "Last Gasp of Summer" picnic with a special 275th birthday cake!
Please note that at the Allied Market, at 1:30 that day, there will be an old fashioned “Tug of War” contest. Teams from local organizations and businesses will come together for a little friendly competition. We need to assemble a team of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids). If you wish to join our church team, please contact the church office.
Blessings on your week ahead,
