Judea Weekly eNews for March 23 - More happenings this Spring!

Hi Friends,

Have you seen the Meeting House lately?  Half of the pews are reassembled and screwed in place on the floor with more to come.  Jim and I were in there the other day when the work was being done.  You can check out the photos he posted on our Facebook page.  We're getting closer….

This Sunday, Pastor Cheryl continues her Lenten series about maintaining spiritual health.  The focus will be on how the instruction for non-judgement included in the gospel of Luke impacts our lives and we will also devote some time to celebrate the life of Ginny Whittall.  Coffee hour refreshments will include some of Ginny’s favorite foods plus some offered by the SingOut! families.  Come join us!

You are invited to a Trivia Night fundraiser for Loaves & Fishes on April 22.  I will be leading the charge on coordinating this and need TWO people to help me out.  You will find an announcement to the right with more details.  It promises to be a really fun night and there appears to be a lot of people who love playing trivia games and who have done this sort of thing before.  Give it some thought, consider pitching in and then contact me if you want to give me a hand or two.

It is almost Easter and we need plastic eggs and supplies!  Jean Baldwin kindly provided us with a list of ideas for things that could be stuffed into those eggs.  So read the announcement on the right and whether or not you have children joining in the fun that day, please help in the preparations by contributing supplies and stuffing eggs on Palm Sunday, April 9.

And this Thursday is the last day to order your Easter memorials - flowers or food/shelter donations.  Make a dedication in honor or memory of a loved one this year!  The announcement on the right has a link to the order form.

Food Bank donations have lagged as they often do at this time of year when the “giving” holidays are over.  But people need to eat year round.  A little every week from everyone will easily help us meet our goal of 2000# this year.

Pastor Cheryl’s meditation program on Saturday mornings at Valley Spirit Cooperative really is running, though there seems to be a glitch on their website so that the class does not appear and you cannot register online.  But give them a call.  I have included the contact info in the announcement on the right.

And last, but also very important, we have been having a wonderful gathering each Wednesday evening with a growing group of people who are dedicated to improving relationships with others by learning how non-violent, or compassionate communication.  Four of us came early and enjoyed a pot luck supper.  Fun!  If you are interested in checking it out and learning more, there is now a link to the class resource materials on our website.  The page is getting updated frequently and new links being posted every week.

I’ll be ushering with Millie Johnson this Sunday and look forward to seeing you then!
